It’s New Year

To all members of Bransgore Evening WI plus our families, friends and neighbours.

The committee hopes 2022 brings you lots of love, laughter, and joy.

Christmas Cheer

Mulled wine, mince pics, Christmas jumpers, lots of smiles (even with face masks you can tell) and laughter describes our BEWI December meeting.  Our speaker, Judy Theobald, talked about ‘Christmas and other problems’ taking us back to those memories of the school nativity play.  Apparently Judy’s schoolgirl ambitions were to lie on the sofa all day and eat chocolates or become a journalist and in her interesting, varied career, did write a weekly poetry column for her local paper, several of which she read to us. Without doubt she helped us focus on fun and laughter.  It was good to see our members and toasted those who were unable to attend.

Our thanks to everyone for making the evening special.

Hike to Highcliffe

To be honest, it’s not that far however, our walk in December, arranged by the ever resourceful Vivienne and Jacqueline, included a great variety of things to look at.  There were sturdy Victorian detached villas next to charming thatched cottages and modern, concrete and glass homes.  We stopped to admire striking, oversized Christmas baubles adorning one home and counted 6 real Christmas trees outside another.  The lights and decorations certainly lit up a fairly dull morning and mother nature was not to outdone with autumnal orange and brown leaves still on trees.  A stop for coffee included views across the coast and a chance to discuss everything from politics to mince pies.  Why not join us in January?
