Feeling Hot, Hot, Hot!

We may not have been dancing along and singing ‘ole, ole, ole, ole,’ (remember the song?) but we did enjoy our walk on one of the hottest days this year.  Temperatures had soared in July, triggering the first-ever Met Office Amber extreme heat warning after temperatures rose past 31C in parts of southern England but we were prepared.  Our walk started earlier, we wore appropriate clothing, carried water to drink, walked in the shade when we could and walked at a slightly slower pace.  Our journey was inspired by Christine’s lockdown walk from her home and took several of us along new, unexplored paths.  The countryside was beautiful under perfect blue skies.  Our exploring ended at Christine’s house with a delicious lunch under the shade of a large umbrella. Just perfect!
