Molto bene!

Celia, once again, had been busy researching and buying Italian red wine focusing on Tuscany which is one of the most famous and prolific wine regions anywhere in Europe. It is best known for its Sangiovese-based dry red wines which dominate output.  There were five bottles ready to taste  – cin cin!  Celia gave us the background to Tuscany wine and the wine clubs now well educated palates tasted Maremma Toscana DOC which is produced in the style of ‘Super Tuscans’ and approved.  The feeling was that it would be excellent with an Italian meal. Chianti Classico DOCG  (yes we all remembered drinking Chianti in our youth!) was also very good.  Both wines had been purchased from a local supermarket.  With memories flooding back of the all wonderful Italian wines we consumed and meals we’d eaten, someone suggested perhaps we could consider a trip to Tuscany to further our education.  May be? After all it had been a ‘serata eccellente’.
