At the majority of monthly meetings a challenge is set for the members. This month was to bring along a record (vinyl, cassette or CD) and explain why it had been chosen. Members searched through their cupboards and brought in a range of singles or albums. The winning album was bought by a father for his daughter and other records transported people back to their youth. The theme of the competition was linked to our excellent speaker Lindsay Reid who told us of his life on a pirate radio ship. It certainly was a nostalgic evening with “our DJ” playing songs and jingles from the radio broadcast in the 1960s and 70s
